Help for Revolted Range, the dealer battery performance and range-testing app.

Check the App Store listing for release availability and the current purchase price.

Start with a free connection check

Open the connection picker, choose your battery and compare live voltage, current direction, state of charge and temperature with the manufacturer’s app in separate connections. Close other battery apps before connecting. Seeing a device name does not establish full compatibility.

Choose Explore without hardware for demo mode. In Setup, open the simulated sample report to inspect PDF and CSV output without a purchase. Simulated data is clearly labeled.

Professional purchase

The planned release offers a one-time Professional in-app purchase for real tests, reports and new manual discharger records. It is not a subscription. The app displays Apple’s current local price before purchase. Use Setup → Restore Purchases with the Apple Account used for the purchase. A Revolted Drive purchase does not unlock Range.

If no price loads, verify your internet connection and try again. Saved reports remain accessible if purchase access becomes unavailable.

Battery compatibility

Connection adapters cover specific protocol layouts, not every battery sold under a brand. The app includes ANT and compatible Digimarker layouts, Daly D2, JK02 32S, JBD-family monitors including some older DC House / Cloud Energy packs, Eco Battery, Lithium Rhino 16S SZYC, captured MODZ FA00 layouts and supported Victron Instant Readout battery monitors. Confirm your exact model and firmware before purchasing.

DC House BW01: some readings remain provisional and real range tests are blocked until the necessary inputs are confirmed. MODZ: generic temperature channels are shown without claiming their physical sensor identity. Victron: enable Instant Readout, obtain your 32-character readout key in VictronConnect, and configure capacity and SOC synchronization there first. Range does not configure your BMS or shunt.

Lead-acid road screening requires a supported current/voltage/SOC monitor. The FSIP screen records results you enter from a separate discharger; Range does not connect to or control that discharger.

Phone GPS and optional Dual GPS

External GPS is optional. Automatic mode uses valid Dual data when available and can fall back to iOS location. Turn on Require external GPS only when you want to reject phone readings. Pair the receiver in iOS Bluetooth Settings, close other receiver apps, wait outdoors for a fix and use Reconnect Dual GPS if needed. Compatibility and direct accessory communication must be confirmed for your receiver and firmware.

Accuracy, satellite geometry and data freshness matter. Weak or missing data can prevent a test or reduce its coverage. Coverage percentages are not accuracy guarantees.

Conduct and understand a test

Use an appropriate controlled area with permission. Secure the phone and interact only while stopped. Keep route, payload, tires, starting charge and temperature consistent when comparing batteries. Slow for corners and follow safe limits. The app cannot stop the cart or enforce a battery cutoff.

Recording pauses in the background. Keep the app open during a test. An interrupted or incomplete run is retained for review but may not qualify for comparisons. Estimated full-charge range is an extrapolation for the recorded conditions, not a certified capacity, safety assessment or guaranteed driving distance.

Reports, deletion and help

Open Tests to view, share or delete a saved test. Manual discharger results are under Lead Acid → FSIP. Removing a local result does not delete previously exported copies or backups. Setup → Privacy & Support explains permissions and can remove Range’s saved Victron keys.

For help, email boatbroker@gmail.com or call 931-397-4154. Include the app version/build, iPhone model, iOS version, battery/monitor model and firmware, and the step that failed. Share a connection log only if you want us to receive its device identifiers and readings. Never send passwords or your Victron readout key.

Read Range’s privacy policy. This page concerns Range; Drive’s policy remains separate.
